TELEAVIA FRENCH HI-DEF 1957

The Teleavia was an innovative black and white high-definition television set designed in France in 1957. Designer Roger Tallon was commissioned by the French firm Thomson SA to revolutionize the shape of TV sets. He later said, in explanation of the trademark’s success and longevity: “It was the first time the shape, the function and the material absolutely intertwined”.

Its motto, from 1963, was "TELEAVIA, design also matters".
